She is very passionate about small animal medicine, with particular interest in preventative medicine. When not at the clinic Dr. Shaw enjoys spending time with her family and many fur babies.

Sydney is originally from Windsor, where she attended the Veterinary Technician program at St. Clair College. She became a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in 2016. Sydney took her college externship at an emergency clinic in Niagara, where she fell in love with emergency medicine! She had been working in emergency and critical care until Aug 2024 when she made the decision to move to the Sault and join the GLAH team. When not working, Sydney also enjoys figure skating, camping, and spending time with her cat, Bacon.

Samantha graduated from the Veterinary Technician program from Penn Foster College in 2023 and joined the GLAH team in 2025. Originally from Cheboygan, MI, she grew up participating in the Cheboygan County Fair showing livestock, volunteered for many years at her local animal shelter, and fell in love with animals at a very young age. When not working, she loves to be outdoors (fall being her favourite season) and spending time with family. She has two dogs and a cat - Buster, Tex, and Timber.

Receptionist
Kylee graduated from Algoma University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography. She joined the GLAH team in 2023. She has a love for animals, particularly small dogs and hamsters. In her spare time, she likes to play tennis, rollerblade, and bake.

Laura has a diploma in Natural Resource Science but found that her true passion is working with animals. She has worked with various Humane Societies and welfare organizations across Ontario for over a decade and joined the GLAH team in August 2024.

General Supervisor
Tiggs is GLAH's first resident, adopted in July 2015. He has been a beloved team member ever since! He loves greeting clients and overseeing general operations in the hospital, especially in the lab. Tiggs' favourite things include fresh warm laundry, sleeping in the sun, investigating empty boxes, stealing staff's chairs, playing with wand toys, and cuddling!

Food Quality Control Officer
Tobi joined the GLAH family in Sept 2017. He is the self-appointed Food Quality Control Officer and takes his job very seriously! He is well known for his ability to open any food or treat bag with his single remaining fang in under 5 seconds. Tobi enjoys sunbathing, playing with his ball, chatting with clients and staff, and reminding us when feeding time is near!
